VEGCOL® a Sustainable Partner
With VEGCOL®, we are not just making products, we are creating opportunities for sustainable farming practices. By utilizing vegetable collagen, we are not only empowering farmers but also promoting a healthier approach to agriculture. With a demand for 100 tonnes of raw materials monthly, we are boosting agriculture and providing good employment opportunities to the farmers.
We understand the growing concern among consumers about their health and the quality of their food. That’s why we are committed to encouraging farmers to adopt more natural way in producing raw materials for our products. By doing so, we are not only ensuring better quality ingredients but also promoting environmental sustainability.
We recognize the significant role of female farmers in the sustainable growth of agriculture. By providing them with opportunities to produce raw materials and earn a good income, we are not only empowering women but also contributing to the feminised agriculture, which in turn supports rural economies.
As a manufacturer, we take pride in offering secure employment to farmers, there by supporting their livelihoods while producing goods that meet the growing demand for healthier and more sustainable options. By prioritizing sustainability, transparency, and empowerment, we are working towards a future where every farmer has the opportunity to thrive, every consumer can trust the products they buy, and the planet is healthier and more resilient for future generations.
Livestock product accounts for 30 % of all human induced greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, over 40% of the world’s entire land is used to graze or grow food for industrially farmed animals and these lands are usually obtained by excessive deforestation, leading to large amount of CO2 emissions. In general, it takes around 100 times more land to produce animal-based meats than it does to produce plant-based alternatives, meaning, vegan collagen production has almost ZERO carbon emissions, thus reducing our carbon footprint in the environment.
A 2023 study found that a vegan diet reduced water pollution by 75%, hence, with Veg collagen, we aim a ZERO discharge plant to eliminate the wastewater into the environment. Additionally, recycled water from vegan collagen production is reused for various purposes in contrast to the animal derived collagen production.
Production of all collagen supplements does require some processing such as organic farming, free-range farming, intensive livestock production, and subsistence agriculture, etc. but their impact on environment is seen in the form of pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, disease, and significant consumption of land, food, and water. Where as Veg collagen requires minimal processing as it is sourced entirely from whole foodplant-based sources.
